Frequently asked questions about TUKE Datahosting (Nextcloud).
Access and Login¶
Who has access to Datahosting?
Access is available to every TUKE student and employee. An account is created automatically upon first login.
How do I log in?
Open the page data.website.tuke.sk and log in with your TUKE ID login and password.
No activation is needed – the account is created automatically.
What should I do if I cannot log in?
Most common reasons:
- Incorrect TUKE ID password
- Expired password
- Blocked account after multiple failed attempts
Solution: Reset password at uvt.tuke.sk/sk/system-jednotneho-prihlasenia
Storage¶
How much storage do I have available?
Each user has 15 GB of available space.
Can the 15 GB capacity be increased?
Yes. You can request a quota increase by email at:
Capacity is increased according to internal rules and approval.
Data Security¶
How is my data protected?
Datahosting runs on internal TUKE infrastructure.
Security includes:
- Soft Delete – accidentally deleted files can be restored
- Backup to two geographically separated locations
- Communication via TLS/SSL
- Regular updates and monitoring
What if I accidentally delete something?
Datahosting uses Soft Delete:
- Files first end up in the trash
- If not manually deleted from there, they can be restored
- Older data can be restored from backups (contact Helpdesk)
Features¶
Can I share files with students or colleagues?
Yes. Nextcloud allows you to:
- Share files and folders with TUKE users
- Generate external links (including password-protected)
- Set time-limited links
Can I edit documents online?
Yes – via OnlyOffice Document Server you can:
- Open and edit documents (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx)
- Work in the browser
- Collaborate with other users in real-time
Is Datahosting suitable for teaching?
Yes, it is ideal for:
- Submitting assignments
- Sharing materials for lectures/exercises
- Collaborating on projects
